Mountains, wetlands, gorges, river sources and mountain villages are within a reasonable distance for day trips, before returning to the gentle pace of Rioja Alavesa.<\/p>\n\t<p>The surrounding area offers a choice of gentle walks, waterside trails, open viewpoints, salt landscapes, ravines and mountain villages. Different outings with one thing in common: they all offer a broader perspective on this land.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>A\u00f1ana Salt Pans \u00b7 35 km<\/strong><br \/>\nA salt landscape with more than 7,000 years of history. Its terraces, channels and salt pans form one of the world&#8217;s oldest salt-producing complexes, transformed in Roman times with a natural evaporation system that still helps explain what makes this place unique.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Berganzo Water Trail \u00b7 25 km<\/strong><br \/>\nAn easy, rewarding walk among beech woods, waterfalls, pools and small cascades. A nearby trail that completely changes the feel of the day.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Obarenes Mountains and nearby villages \u00b7 25-35 km<\/strong><br \/>\nA nearby outing to explore mountain ranges, gorges and stone-built villages between La Rioja and Burgos. Cellorigo or Sajazarra, recognised as one of Spain&#8217;s most beautiful villages, make good stops on a leisurely journey through the area.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Source of the Nervi\u00f3n \u00b7 80 km<\/strong><br \/>\nOne of the area&#8217;s great natural landscapes, with a spectacular waterfall when there is enough water and an open viewpoint over the Delika valley.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Laguardia Lagoons \u00b7 22 km<\/strong><br \/>\nA group of wetlands beside the vineyards, very close to the walled town of Laguardia. A peaceful walk for birdwatching, enjoying the scenery and discovering another side of Rioja Alavesa.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Leza Valley \u00b7 55 km<\/strong><br \/>\nA landscape of ravines, rock and silence, with the River Leza canyon as one of its main attractions. An outing into a wilder, less familiar side of La Rioja.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ezcaray \u00b7 60 km<\/strong><br \/>\nOne of Spain&#8217;s most beautiful villages and one of La Rioja&#8217;s leading mountain destinations.
